English Ambassadors earn 3,746,620 COP a month gross, plus health insurance, paid leave, a legal work permit and a visa fee contribution after six months. The cost of living is low, so the salary supports a comfortable lifestyle.
Can I teach English in Colombia without a degree?
Yes. You need either a bachelor's degree or a TEFL, TESOL or CELTA certificate, so a TEFL qualifies you even without a degree. You also need fluent English and strong communication skills.
Where are the teaching jobs in Colombia?
Placements are in Bogotá, Soacha, Mosquera, Medellín, Itagüí, Cali, Manizales and Villavicencio, at established language schools in major urban centres.
Is housing included?
A local engagement team helps you find housing, but rent is arranged and paid by the teacher.
What are the working hours?
You choose from three schedules: full-time days (9am to 6pm), mornings (6am to 1:30pm) or afternoons (1:30pm to 9pm), Monday to Friday, plus every other Saturday from 8am to 4pm.
